Dental Crown Treatment in Prairieville, LA

Prior to your treatment, Dr. Bailey always conducts a thorough examination of the teeth and gums. He uses diagnostic x-rays to find signs of decay, stress, or instability. By examining the mouth and tooth structure, Dr. Bailey is able to help you find the best option for your long-term oral health needs.

If dental crowns are the best solution for you, Dr. Bailey will begin treatment by preparing the tooth for the tooth crown. This is done by removing a small portion of the tooth enamel. He will take dental impressions of the teeth so he can create a custom crown. When complete, Dr. Bailey will ensure that the crown fits properly and blends in with your smile.

We ensure that our patients feel comfortable as possible during treatment. Local anesthesia is used for pain-free care. Patients may experience mild sensitivity following treatment, but these symptoms will subside within 3 days of your crown treatment. Our goal is to always provide comfortable care to our patients. Please contact us if you have any difficulty following your treatment.

CEREC Same-Day Crowns

Dr. Bailey uses the Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic (CEREC) method in order to provide dental crowns to patients in just one dental office visit. CEREC uses computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software to design and manufacture same-day crowns. With CEREC technology, Dr. Bailey can scan your teeth to create a 3-D image. Using this image, Dr. Bailey is then able to digitally design your crown or crowns.

From a single block of ceramic, we can mill the crown or crowns in our office. After your restoration is polished and cleaned, we permanently place one or more crowns on your damaged or discolored teeth. They are also used to cap a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Inlays and Onlays

Also known as partial crowns, inlays and onlays cover tooth damage on and within the cusps of the natural tooth’s crown. Inlays are molded within the cusps of the tooth. Onlays cover the cusps of the tooth. Alternatively, dental implants cover the whole tooth, not just the cusps. Inlays and onlays are used if damage is not severe enough to warrant a full dental crown.
